The Medication Aide Training Program for Nursing Homes, approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON), prepares individuals to safely administer medications under the supervision of licensed nurses in long-term care facilities.
Program Overview
Length: 24 Hours of classroom and skills training
Approval: NC Board of Nursing Approved
Purpose: Prepares students to administer oral, topical, and instilled medications in nursing homes while following legal and ethical guidelines
Requirements
Completion of a 24-Hour NC Board of Nursing–Approved Medication Aide Training Program
Successful completion of the Medication Aide Examination
Listing on the NC Medication Aide Registry upon passing the exam
