Program Overview
Length: 15 Hours of classroom and skills training
Approval: NC Division of Health Service Regulation (DHSR)
Purpose: Trains students to safely administer routine medications (oral, topical, and instilled) to residents in assisted living and adult care homes, while following state laws and facility policies
Requirements
Completion of a 15-Hour DHSR-Approved Medication Aide Training Program
Successful completion of the Medication Aide Examination for Adult Care Homes
Listing on the NC Medication Aide Registry for Assisted Living upon passing the exam

Program Tuition – $408.00
Covers course instruction and training materials
Application Fee – $125.00
Includes registration and study guides
Examination Fee – Paid separately to the DHSR testing provider
👉 Upon successful completion, graduates are eligible to be listed on the NC Medication Aide Registry for Assisted Living Facilities and can begin working in adult care homes or assisted living environments under proper supervision.
